About Us

Hi There! We are Yohana and Roy Hykal. We specialize in home remodels backed by beautiful designs.

Roy is a General Contractor with a background in the financial aspect of real estate investment and Yohana is a realtor and designs and manages the day to day operations of Hykal Homes. This combination of skillsets allows us to advise our home remodel clients on what the best investment is for their homes and how to maximize this investment both, aesthetically and financially. In addition to design and renovations, we love spending time with our children and family, traveling, and eating some delicious food.

Countertop of the year! Taj Mahal 🙌🔥. The delicate white veins, the warmth, the earthiness…hmm hmmm hmmm!! 😍. I wish I could take credit for selecting this beauty…but it was my client’s last minute change of heart that lead us to selecting this baby right here. Boy hoy boy am I glad she follow her instinct 🙌. We took that countertop and run wild with the different edges and adornment that we were able to achieve with it. Including using it for backsplash with NO outlets shown 💪✨.

Myth: your home remodel will cost you an arm 💪 and a leg 🦵 or something crazy that you think you cant afford. The fact is, what you cant afford is NOT to do that home remodel. You see, a home remodel is not an expense. An expense is that @gucci bag or that new @bmw 👀. All things that you love but that when you buy…💨💨 they go down in value. A home remodel on the other hand, is an INVESTMENT 💰. It is something that, if done correctly, you will get back when you sell the home or via appreciation. Your money is not gone 💸 but rather secure and growing as home values go up.

On the other hand, when you DONT remodel, you are missing out on 1) that appreciation potential and most importantly 2) enjoying your beautiful dream home while keeping your money safe 💰💰

My formula never fails, friends! Here it is:
1) Begin with what is important to you. For example, if you are obsessed with flooring or vanities….or wall tile. One item in your bathroom will be THE focal point. Select your wow factor and work around that one component. If you LOVe some very fun but very busy flooring time, thats ok. Begin with that and build upon that one item you love.

2) Then select your vanity. This is where you can save if you can take your time to look. Same way you take your time in the sale rack at TJ Max or Target. There is a huge variety of off the shelf vanities to pick from. Take your time and find that one that complements your wow factor item in number 1 above.

3) Mirrors and Light Fixtures: This is where you will want to splurge. This is what everyone will see and what will make or break your design, so find some beautiful mirrors and light fixtures that can wow everyone. Do not try to go cheap on this step. Trust me on this. 😅
.
4) Wall accents: If you want to add some fun to your decor, add in some accents such as wallpaper, wainscoting, beaded boards, be creative here. Play with color, texture, shapes….but always complementing your other items above. Remember that you only want to have 1 focal point. 1 wow factor. Everything else should be pretty but should never compete with your wow factor.

5) Play with shapes and metal colors. I try to stay consistent with shapes of cabinet pulls, mirrors, and plumbing fixtures. But i also like to mix metals. Keep it to a max of 2 metal colors. Gold and black. Black and chrome. Pro tip: chrome is always less expensive so when I have a certain budget to maintain (which is always lol) I try to keep the brass or gold for mirrors and lights only and everything else chrome or black.

If you keep to this formula, you will always have a cohesive look. Remember that your bathroom renovation is an investment that you will get to enjoy. So its a win win! 🙌.
