RENOVATIONS
Seeing Potential Where Others See Problems
Camfield — Hero Image

Camfield is a 3,081 SF home in Garner, NC — a dated 1980s property with unusual layouts, structural issues, and spaces that weren't serving the family living there. Hykal Homes took on a complete whole-home renovation: master bathroom, kitchen conversion, laundry relocation, mudroom, upstairs bedrooms, home library, workstations, detached garage bonus space, outdoor living, and the structural, plumbing, electrical, and insulation work that made it all possible.
The home had unusual layouts that didn't work for modern family living, structural issues that needed to be addressed before cosmetic work could begin, and spaces — like the sunroom — that were underutilized and disconnected from the rest of the home.

We saw a home with good bones and bad decisions. The unusual layouts weren't unfixable — they were opportunities. The structural issues were real, but addressable. What looked like a problem home was actually a home waiting to be reimagined.
The sunroom was converted into the new kitchen — a transformation that gave the kitchen natural light and a connection to the outdoor spaces that the original layout never had.
The master bathroom was redesigned as part of the full renovation scope — updated to match the quality and character of the transformed home.
The laundry was relocated and a mudroom was created — functional additions that make the home work better for a family's daily routines.
The upstairs bedrooms were updated as part of the whole-home scope — spaces that now feel cohesive with the rest of the renovated home.
A home library and workstations were incorporated into the design — spaces that reflect how the family actually uses their home.
The detached garage bonus space was finished and outdoor living areas were developed — extending the home's usable space beyond its walls.
Structural repairs, plumbing upgrades, electrical upgrades, and insulation work were completed as part of the renovation — the foundational work that makes everything else possible.
